Full Scale Evacuation Drill

Friday, March 15, 2019

This Friday, March 15, 2019 our entire school population will engage in a Full Scale Emergency Evacuation Drill.  Our school, in accordance with Ministry of Education guidelines, conducts regular Fire, Earthquake and Lockdown drills.  However, during this special drill, staff and students will extend the practice by:

• Grouping our student population into pre-determined “Colour Groups”,

• Taking out our emergency “Comfort Kits” (kits that contain food, a blanket, and other necessities),

• Set up Command and Release Posts

• Send home students from the Release Post

In order to facilitate the smooth operation of this drill, we are asking for parents to start picking up their child(ren) from 2:00 pm onwards on Friday, March 15, 2019 .

Please note that this process will take a significant amount of time as each child will have to be signed out from our “Release Post” (which will be located by the “Blue gate” adjacent to the priests’ rectory).  If you arrive at 2:00 pm you will not necessarily receive your child(ren) right away.  Patience and understanding will be needed as we engage in this necessary drill.

IMPORTANT!  Please ensure that if you are not picking up your child and another adult (an alternate) is, that their name matches the name on your child's emergency tag (this is a tag that was filled out at the beginning of the school year).  We will be checking to make sure that the person(s) listed on the emergency tag matches who comes to pick up your child.

If you have any questions/concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at or 604-589-7545.

Spring Ahead

Reminder:  at 2:00 am on Sunday, March 10, 2019 please remember to turn your clocks forward 1 hour (spring ahead) for Daylight Savings Time.  Thank you.
