Back to School!

Welcome back!  School starts for all students in Grades 1 through 7 at 8:45 am on Tuesday, September 3.  Kindergarten students are on a separate gradual entry schedule.  Families are welcome to join us for our first school Mass at 11:15 am on Tuesday.  Please note school ends at 12:15 pm on Tuesday.

Meet the Teacher Night

Reminder:  Meet the Teacher Night is this Wednesday, September 4 at 6:00 pm.  This is an important night and we ask that at least one parent attend.  All families will meet in the gym for some opening words by Father Tran and the principal and then parents will have an opportunity to meet their child's teacher.  Your child's teacher will go over expectations for the year and will be available to answer questions.    Please note that this is a meeting for parents and we ask that arrangements are made for your child(ren) to stay home.

Staffing Update

Unfortunately, due to health reasons Mrs. Lisa Saharchuk (part-time Grade 3 teacher) will no longer be teaching at St. Matthew's.  Ms. Casenas will continue as the Grade 3 teacher.  Please pray for the health of Mrs. Saharchuk.

A former staff member, Ms. Lizette Gatlabayan, will be re-joining us this year as an Education Assistant.  Welcome back, Ms. G!

NO SCHOOL - November 22, 2019

Please note that on Friday, November 22, 2019 there will be no school for students as it is a Professional Development Day for our teachers.  This date was not in the August newsletter that was sent out; my apologies for any inconvenience.

Uniform Reminders

Please note that students should be wearing their proper, full uniform for school.  Black dress shoes (not runners or casual wear) are expected as well.  All students' hair colour should be natural.  The following examples below show hair that is not acceptable.  Thank you for helping your children adhere to school rules.

Traffic Flow

Earlier this week an email was sent out detailing the CHANGE in traffic flow due to the on-going construction around St. Matthew's.  Please click HERE and HERE to access the video demonstrations.  We are asking everyone to exercise extreme patience as we all learn to navigate these new changes.
