Food Drive Appeal - Friday, December 8, 2017

On Friday, December 8, 2017 at 9:00 am we will celebrate our next school Mass.  We are asking that, if possible, each school family donate a non-perishable item for the St. Matthew's Vincent de Paul Christmas Hampers.  All donations are most welcome however, preferred items include:  granola bars, cookies, soup, pasta, pasta sauce and mashed potatoes.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Help Needed - Stage Setup

We are in need of parents to help take out and set up our stage for our upcoming Christmas performance.  We will begin at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2017.  If you are able to help out please contact Miss Welsh at welsh@stmatthewselementary.ca or 604-589-7545.  Remember - many hands make light work!

St. Matthew's Elementary Christmas Presentation

Wednesday, December 20, 2017

Save the date!  On Wednesday, December 20, 2017 students will perform, "The First Christmas Story” .  There will be 2 shows:  1:30 pm and 7:00 pm. Admission is by donation of a non-perishable food item for our local food bank.   Your child’s teacher will soon be sending home information about the particular clothing/costume they are to wear for the performance and dress rehearsal days.  Thank you.

Holy Cross Alumni Information

Parents - did you attend Holy Cross High School as a teenager?  If you did, then you will be pleased to know that the Holy Cross Alumni Association is up and running!   Register on their website (please see below) to gain access to the Alumni newsletter, keeping you updated on upcoming school and alumni events!  

Our first Alumni event will take place at the B.C. Catholics on Friday, January 18, 2018 and Saturday, January 19, 2018.

2018-2019 Application Forms - New Families

Any new family wishing to apply to St. Matthew's Elementary School for the 2018-2019 school year will have the opportunity to pick up an application form from the school office beginning, Wednesday, January 10, 2018.  

Completed forms are expected to be returned no later than:  Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 3:00 pm.

Current families please note that re-registration forms will be given out at the end of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

KINDERGARTEN​ ​2018/2019

We are asking that current families who have a son or daughter born in 2013 and will be starting Kindergarten in September 2018 inform Ms. Rossi at the school office. Please phone Ms. Rossi (604-589-7545) or e-mail her at: office@stmatthewselementary.ca and provide her with your child’s name and date of birth.

Grade 6 Retreat - Saturday, January 13, 2018

Grade 6 Parents:   Please note that St. Matthew's Youth Ministry is offering a Grade 6 Retreat on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm.  This is an awesome opportunity for your children to grow in their faith through skits, song and small group activities.  A form with details about this day has been sent home with Grade 6 students earlier this week.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Do Carmo at docarmo@stmatthewselementary.ca or Mrs. Trish Van Vliet at prep@saintmatthews.ca

Advent Masses

 The beautiful liturgical season of Advent will begin on Sunday, December 3, 2017.  During this season we ask students in Grades 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 classes to commit to coming to 8:00 am Morning Mass on certain days.  Please see the schedule below.  If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher:
