Help Needed!

Tomorrow: Saturday, March 3, 2018  we are in need of volunteers to help clear out the storage containers at the front of the church.  Volunteers are asked to meet Mr. Lorne Ward (our parish's operations manager) in the Jubilee Hall parking area (at the bottom of the stairs) at 9:00 am.  This task should take 2-3 hours.  If you are able to help out please contact Miss Welsh at:  welsh@stmatthewselementary.ca

Please note that PPP hours will be given to those families who assist in this task.

Scholastic Book Fair 

March 6, 7, 8 2018

Looking for a good book?  Find it at our Scholastic Book Fair - yes, it's back!!!  During our school's Literacy Week we will also have the Scholastic Book Fair set up in the library.  For more details, please see below:

March 6, 7, 8, 2018:   11:00 am - 12:45 pm

March 6, 7, 2018:       2:45 pm - 3:45 pm

March 8, 2018:           11:00 am - 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm - 3:45 pm

Poverty Lunch - Holy Thursday

All students will participate in our annual Poverty Lunch on Thursday, March 29, 2018.  Students will be provided with bread and a beverage (water) at lunch time.  We are asking that on this day students bring a non-perishable food item.  All donations will be given to St. Matthew's St. Vincent de Paul Society; this group helps those members of our community who are in need.

 

 

Lenten Morning Masses 

Students in Grades 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are asked to attend 8:00 am morning Masses with their classmates.  Please note that parents are most welcome to attend these Masses, too.  Below are a list of scheduled dates for your child's class:

Parenting Workshop

CISVA Sexuality and Your Child

Save the date!  On Monday, April 16, 2018 parents in Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6 and Grade 7 have a wonderful opportunity to gain skills on how to talk to your children about sensitive topics such as, growth and maturity, media influences and parent-child relationships.  Professional speakers from Signal Hill have been booked to given an individualized workshop for each grade.  The workshop will begin at 7:00 pm and end at approximately 8:15 pm.  Light refreshments will be provided.

Lost and Found

Please take a look at our Lost and Found bucket located near the front entrance of the school.  We have many boots, sweaters, jackets, gloves, water bottles, etc. that belong to someone!  Any items not claimed by Thursday, March 8 will be donated to charity.  Thank you for your help!
