Friday Update – January 21, 2022

Dear St. Matthew’s Elementary School Families,

In January helping organizations like St. Matthew’s St. Vincent de Paul Society often experience a drop in the amount of donations.  This year the theme for CISVA schools is One Family, One Hope in Christ and for the month of January we have decided to focus on service as a school family.  Thus, we are asking that during the week of January 24, 2022 (next week) each SMES family bring in a can of unperishable food for the St. Matthew’s St. Vincent de Paul Society.   God has been so generous to us and a great lesson to teach our children is a heart of generosity.

Let us also pray for our Grade 2 students; they are preparing for their First Reconciliation (Confession) next Thursday.  May this be the start of a continuing journey of sorrow for the wrongs we commit and a genuine seeking of forgiveness from God in this sacrament of healing.

Sincerely in Christ,
Miss Welsh
