Friday Update: April 8, 2022

Dear St. Matthew’s Elementary School Families
This Sunday we will celebrate Palm Sunday, commemorating Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem.  It is a day where we can reflect on the amazing fact that God came to Earth over 2000 years ago to teach us how to live life as fully as possible.  Let us rejoice in this fact and look forward to the joy that Easter Sunday will bring!

Sincerely in Christ,
Miss Welsh

BIBLICAL WORDS OF WISDOM:

Christ became obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.
because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name which is above every name.

(Phil 2:8-9)

NEWS FOR THIS WEEK

WALKATHON 2022 IS LAUNCHED!

ST. MATTHEW’S ANNUAL WALKATHON

We are coming together to raise funds to purchase new Chromebooks. To motivate our entire school community, prizes are structured this year to reach our fundraising goal of $10,000, while encouraging everyone to participate.  In better accommodating our various supporters, the school will be offering two ways to collect pledges: (both donation collection options are recorded for the weekly class incentive prizes and the top fundraising class prizes awarded at the end)
1) the usual hard copy pledge sheet (please see attached form)
2) a new secure online donation platform (please use the following link – https://saintmatthews.ca/walkathon

Wednesday, April 13:  Grades 2, 3, 4

PARENT INPUT REQUESTED

Pope Francis wants to hear from all people about their hopes and dreams for the Church and the world. As parents of children in a Catholic school, you are a vital part of the Church family and your voice matters. You’re invited to dream about the future of the Church: please take a moment to send in your thoughts on one of five questions.   Visit the synod site of the Vancouver Archdiocese or go directly to the Individual submission Form
