Tomorrow all parents have the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss their progress so far this school year. Please note the following about Parent-Teacher Interviews:
* Please arrive at your assigned time
* When you arrive please proceed directly to your child’s classroom and wait outside the door until you are called in
* In order to stay on schedule a bell will ring every 10 minutes signalling the end of a session and the start of a new session
* If you need more time with your child’s teacher please make a follow up appointment
And on a different note: please remember that if you need to drop off your child early there is no staff supervision until 8:35 am. An alternative may be to have your child attend 8:00 am Mass (Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays). It is a great way for your child to be spiritually prepared for the day!

SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE
Preparations are underway for our school Christmas performance. Please note that two performances will take place on Wednesday, December 14, 2022; an afternoon show at 1:30 pm and an evening show at 6:00 pm. Teachers will soon be in touch about specific outfits your child will be asked to wear for the performance. Thank you.
NEW KINDERGARTEN FAMILY APPLICANTS 2023-2024
Do you know of any families who do not have children currently at SMES wishing to have their child enrolled in Kindergarten at St. Matthew’s Elementary? If yes, please pass on the following information:
Families who have a child born in 2018 and are turning five years old in 2023 please note that application forms for Kindergarten 2023-2024 school year will be available beginning Monday, November 28, 2022, at the school office (between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm) Completed applications forms are to be returned no later than Monday, December 5 at the school office. Open Parachute is a resource available to families and schools to help provide support in important areas of children’s development including: mental health, resiliency and building compassion. Throughout the year I will provide parents with links to a resource that tackles these areas.
