Friday Update: June 9, 2023

Dear St. Matthew’s Elementary School Families,

This Sunday we celebrate the great feast of Corpus Christi!  On this day we not only remember and stand in awe of the  awesome sacrifice of Jesus Christ but, rejoice that Jesus’ love for us provides us with salvation:  the hope of eternal life!   After the 12:30 pm Mass there will be a Corpus Christi procession; this would be a great event for you and your family to take part in!

Next week we wil come together as a school and parish community for our first ever carnival on Saturday, June 17, 2023.  Please pray for the success of this event and come out and support!  See you then!

CARNIVAL UPDATE! 

We are a little more than a week away from our Carnival!

Please note that wristbands from those who ordered using the physical form have gone home and must be kept and worn on the day of the carnival for access to the activities.

Anyone who purchased tickets  online can pick them up from the Welcome Tent on the day of the Carnival.

FUN DAY 

On Friday, June 16, 2023 students will engage in our annual Fun Day activities.  Students will participate in different stations, led by our Grade 7 students.  Each child is requested to wear a particular colour for Fun Day.

Please contact your child’s teacher for details about what to wear and please note that school ends at 12:15 pm on June 16, 2023.  Thank you!

GRADE 6 BASKET RAFFLE

Get your raffle tickets early in time for the SMES Carnival!

On Friday, June 16th at 12:15 pm raffle tickets will be sold in front of the school office. 3 baskets of goodies will be auctioned off – one for a girl, a boy and a family basket.

Tickets are only 3 for $5 in support of the upcoming expenses for the incoming Grade 7’s retreats and other needs.

WALKATHON WINNERS UPDATE!

As the Grand Prize Winners of the Walkathon this year the Grade 1 and 3 classes enjoyed a day at Playland yesterday!
