St. Matthew’s Elementary School’s
Friday Update
JUNE 16, 2023

Dear St. Matthew’s Elementary School Families,

We have arrived to the mid-way point of June; can you believe we are only 2 weeks away from the end of the school year?

Tomorrow marks the arrival of our first ever school carnival; I can tell you the kids are VERY excited.  Let’s pray that this is an event where everyone can come together in a spirit of good cheer and fellowship!

And last, but definitely not least, a very blessed and happy Father’s Day to all St. Matthew’s fathers and father-figures!  May God continue to strengthen and guide you in your most important role!

Sincerely in Christ,

Ms. Welsh

NEWS FOR THE WEEK

IMPORTANT CARNIVAL UPDATES!

All families planning on attending the Carnival please note the following important information:

*  Bring CASH to partake in the food and additional activities (like the bake walk and dunk tank).

*  Feel free to bring a picnic blanket to be able to relax on the grass if the weather is nice!

*  Don’t forget to bring your wristbands from the presale and if you bought your tickets online, they will be available for pick up at the welcome tent.

*  Adults do not need wristbands, they are specifically for the attractions for kids ages 2 to 13. There will be lots of other opportunities for adults to enjoy, including our bake walk, dunk tank, silent auction, lots of great food, and performances on the main stage!

*  There will be a couple of other events going on at the parish on Saturday and parking may be challenging.   If you are finding it hard to grab a spot, the Holy Cross gravel lot is open for our use as is the lot at the Surrey Christian School.

CONGRATULATIONS SMES TRACK TEAM!

Yesterday the SMES Track Team had the honour of singing O Canada on Day 2 of the CISVA Track Meet because we won the small schools trophy last year.

Here’s a picture taken by Mr. Durante after the successful singing of our national anthem!
