Communicating Student Learning

On Tuesday, December 4, 2018 Communicating Student Learning Progress Reports will go home.  Please note that this year, as per CISVA guidelines, the following language will be used to assess your child's progress:

Beginning: The student is beginning to demonstrate an initial understanding of the concepts and competencies related to the learning standards.

Developing: The student demonstrates a partial understanding of the concepts and competencies related to the learning standards.

Proficient: The student demonstrates a complete understanding of the concepts and competencies related to the learning standards.

Extending: The student demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of the concepts and competencies related to the learning standards.

Please note that Extending refers to students going above and beyond grade level consistently throughout the term.  It is not the expectation that a student achieve Extending as this would mean the student's output exceeds the expectations for the current grade level they are in.

If you have any questions about this please contact Miss Welsh  at: or 604-589-7545.
